The Invisible Man

While watching the news this morning, I watched a commercial of a lady who found a collection of Father's Day cards. This was the FIRST Father's Day commercial that I have seen all week. This would never happen during the weeks leading up to Mother's Day. Four days away from Father's Day, and only one commercial. What's really going on? I'll tell you what's happening. Fathers are becoming the Invisible Man, non-existent to society. Society believes they can function without them.

I know there are some guys that are just "planting seeds"; but there are some Father's who are stepping up to the plate. Way too often these "planting seeds" guys receive all the press. I beg to differ. There are some Father's who don't leave everything for the wife to do, assist with homework/projects, and other community activities. These Father's won't make the news but these are the guys that need to be saluted.

So, while you are out shopping for that Father's Day gift stir away from the " buttons, t-shirts, and glow in dark suspenders and give your Father want he really wants. Your Father really wants you to appreciate His strength, insight, lessons learned from life, and sacrifices He makes for the family too. Let Him know that, He's not the invisible man....

Can I get an Amen?....

As a child growing up, I learned that there is a distinctive language for every surrounding. While on the basketball court, we would say things like" pass the rock", "make it and take it" or when you make a shot "give me my change".

One of the most utilized word used in Church is "Amen." Think about it, how many times do you hear someone say "Amen." There is a "Amen" for the Sunday School Teacher, a "Amen" for the devotion leader, and some " Amens" for when the Preacher shares the word of God. Do you know the meaning of "Amen"?
"Amen" means truly, verily, or so be it. Many times people say "amen" out of habit . I am breaking the cycle today. I will no longer say "Amen" to motions made by a Church that they are at peace without a Pastor. I will no longer say " Amen" to help someone preaching when it is obvious they haven't studied. I will no longer say" Amen" to someone in the choir that says when didn't rehearse this week, so pray for us as we do this number for the Lord. Can I get a Amen?....
